Network water compliance
It is important in your supply chain to consider the source and quantity of water being used when hiring a road sweeper. When additional water supply is required to complete the task, K Sweep is fully licensed to draw water from the network using standpipes legally hired from the local water authority.
Using your own standpipes to connect to the water network is illegal and can result in a fine of £1,000. Additionally, it is against the law to access and draw water from a fire hydrant (FH).
At K Sweep, we only use approved standpipes and strictly follow the regulations associated with their use to ensure the safety of the public, the environment, and the water network. These measures are in place to prevent contamination and protect the health and safety of all involved.

Our drivers are fully trained and certified through the Aquam’s Calm Networks program, which has earned a Certificate of Accreditation from the Institute of Water. This training ensures that our operators are competent in handling valve technologies found in water networks and understand how to prevent transient surges, a leading cause of leaks and pipe bursts in the system.
